BLYTHE MATSUI (Instructor/Jazz Dance) has been a working member of Actors Equity, SAG and AFTRA for
over 17 years. Her stage credits include: the national tour of MISS SAIGON, FLOWER DRUM SONG (Mark
Taper Forum), FAME and SAYONARA (Pasadena Playhouse), LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, IMELDA: A NEW
MUSICAL, and PIPPIN (East West Players) in which she also choreographed with special critical acclaim from the
LA Times, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR w/ all the original cast from the historical film production as well as Jack
Black, THE MIKADO PROJECT and critically acclaimed CLOSER THAN EVER (Lodestone Theater), LEGENDS
IN CONCERT (Las Vegas), RHAPSODY OF THE SEAS (Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines). Television: "Root of all
Evil", "The Bill Engvall Show", “Will & Grace”, “Sabrina, The Teenage WitchE2, “Jack And Jill”, “G vs E”, “Firefly”
, "Illeannarama", and the original “Star Search”. Film: WINNING LONDON, ORANGE COUNTY, BASEKETBALL,
FORGET PARIS. Blythe has also appeared as leads in music videos such as Wu Tang Clan's "The Heart
Gently Weeps" and hundreds of national and regional commercials. She has had much success as a
choreographer being the personal coach to Nancy Travis, Traci Lords and Tim Meadows, choreographing for
"The Bill Engvall Show" and is currently choreographing her second production with East West Player's "BE LIKE
WATER" after finishing the run of the impressive highest grossing production of "PIPPIN" in EWP's history.
Blythe is a former Los Angeles Laker Girl and is currently the “Dance Expert” for Fox 11 News “So you think you
can dance” Segments w/ Jane Yamamoto.
